(Barrie) – The Barrie Federal Green Party will hold its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, January 10th at 2:00 pm in the Angus Ross Room of the Barrie Public Library. The keynote speaker for the meeting will be 30-year Canadian radio and television broadcaster Ralph Benmergui, who is currently Senior Advisor to the Green Party of Canada. As well, newly-elected Green Party of Ontario leader Mike Schreiner will be on hand to address attendees.
“The Annual General Meeting is an opportunity for all members to meet, set the riding’s direction for the next year, and to listen to inspirational words from Mr. Benmergui and Mr. Schreiner” said Erich Jacoby-Hawkins, the nominated Green Party of Canada candidate for Barrie. “The Green Party is still growing rapidly in Barrie, and this is a key step in the process for those who want to engage in improving their community.”
“I am pleased to be in the wonderful city of Barrie for the Green Party AGM. Barrie Greens are a professional group of community leaders who are presenting innovative ideas for building a prosperous green economy that fosters sustainable communities and promotes the health and well being of all residents.” said Green Party of Ontario leader Mike Schreiner.
Barrie’s Federal Green Party Association was formed in 2004. Candidate Erich Jacoby-Hawkins received 11.1% of the vote during the previous federal election in October, 2008.
