Cleaning up Sunnidale Park & other activities

Volunteer opportunity – Barrie Greens walk/run club

Every year there are many local walkathons, runathons, and other events where people get out and
move to show their support for a good cause and raise some funds. The Barrie Green Party supports
these activities, so we’re setting up a Barrie Greens walk/run club. Whenever we learn about a
walk or run event, we’ll be there to show the community that we are present and supportive.

If you are interested in joining our “club”, just email with your phone
number. We’ll let you know about upcoming events. You’ll get a free Green Party T-shirt – in
addition to whatever handouts come from the host organization – and a nice, healthy stroll
outside. Fun for the whole family! No “politicking” required – our presence IS the message.

Where possible, we will try to do a bit of fund raising for the cause, but you are NOT required
to fundraise – all we want is your feet (and whatever else is attached). Please contact Shawn,
our volunteer coordinator, to sign up. No obligation, it just lets us know to notify you of
upcoming runs & walks.

Green Party Pub Night – Saturday April 17th, 7 – 9 pm, Queens
Hotel, 82 Dunlop St. E. Barrie

Come out to our new location, the Queens Hotel has formally invited us to meet there. It’s got
several areas and we’re not sure which we’ll be at, so have a look around – we’ll try to post a
sign, or ask the wait staff where the Greens are.

All are welcome, bring a friend, share a glass and discuss the Greenery of Spring.

Spring Into Clean Sunnidale Clean-up, Saturday, April 25, 10 am

Once again, we’ll be cleaning up our adopted trail, the north ravine at Sunnidale Park.

Meet at the Dorian Parker Centre at 10 pm. We’ll be done in time for lunch – which is on us!

All materials (gloves, bags) are supplied, but please RSVP to so we know
how many to expect.
